Brief description of the product/company concept
Logitech is a Swiss company which started from product mice and become the world’s most famous computer peripheral equipment suppliers and the income of Logitech in 2005 has reached 1.8 billion US Dollars. According to the IDC’s data, from 1982 to 2004 with Logitech, 55% of global production of personal computer which means 900 million PCs has equipped with Logitech mouse, the world of top 20 computer manufacturers are its customer.
How the business started
Logitech was cofounded by Daniel Borel, Pierluigi Zappacosta and Giacamo Marini in a farm in Swiss in 1981. Daniel Borel and Pierluigi Zappacosta meet in Stanford University in California and then they joint Giacamo Marini who is from Zappacosta’s hometown and founded the company.
When they started, they were focused on software design and development, which ultimately lead them to study the mouse as a graphical user interface input device. And they believe that the mouse will become one of the most important computer peripherals, so they started to sell the mouse which produced in Swiss.

How the product / company got its name
On 2 October 1981, two Stanford university graduates Daniel Borel and Pierluigi joint Giacomo Marini cofounded the company in a small village in Swiss and their first trade is to develop a graphics editor for Ricoh company. Because of the background of them they choose “Logitech” as the name of company which is from French “Logiciel” means software.
